Katie's sailboat paintings are inspired by summers near Michigan's many lakes. She weaves layers of colorful paint into water, land and sky. While the play of the colors is painterly, the boats across the surface hark back to Katie's graphic design roots with a consideration of the geometry of the shapes and the rhythm of the sails.

Sails I is 22x10" on 1.5" deep cradled birch panel. The painting is suitable to display without framing.
